What makes Centennial a great city?

·          Low Taxes??

The property tax has not changed one fraction of a mill from when the area was in Arapahoe County. Centennial took the Arapahoe Law Enforcement Authority mill levy and that levy became the city’s mill levy. No mill levy was added. Centennial sales tax is one-half percent lower than all surrounding municipalities.

· Privatization Success CH2M Hill???

Centennial has won accolades for their Public Works outsourcing to CH2M Hill. This public/private partnership is costing the City less than if they brought the Public Works facility in-house.

· World Class Transportation Hub, Centennial, Airport???

Speaks for itself; This General Aviation airport is the second busiest in the county.

· Room for growth – Vacant land???  Some number…???

I can’t give you this information. There is not a whole lot of vacant commercial land and virtually no vacant residential. Homes in Centennial are ahead of the market recovery in number of sales.

· Served by Blue Ribbon Schools from Littleton and Cherry Creek??

Supporting Littleton Public and Cherry Creek Schools have both enjoyed Blue Ribbon Status!

· Libraries??

Centennial is part of one of the best library systems in Colorado. The Arapahoe Library District has four excellent libraries in Centennial and several more in the unincorporated county. Our library system is doing well as it is continually supported by voters that understand the value of a strong library. We have a 4.783 mill levy that keeps our system very healthy. (Libraries are: Southglenn, Koelbel, Castlewood and Smoky Hill)

· Park Land Acres to residents ratio?

I can’t guess this ratio. There are two large and innumerable small park (and recreation) districts in Centennial supported by mill levy. South Suburban Parks & Recreation District covers east of I-25 and Arapahoe Parks & Recreation District covers some of the area east of Parker Road. Both of those districts have excellent facilities to serve their constituencies: Goodson Rec. Center is near the Streets at SouthGlenn and Trails Recreations Center is near Buckley & Orchard Roads. Every neighborhood has dedicated open space/park land within its borders.

Safety

Centennial, Colorado has been the safest Colorado city over 100,000 residents since its inception.
